Lowered Expectations Demo – 2014
I recorded this demo In 2014, which was intended to evolve into a full-length Ryan Cook album titled Lowered Expectations. At the time I had been seduced by the Beach Boys music and for most of 2014 I wasn’t able to write a melody or hook without hearing (in my head) Four Freshmen style harmonies on top of everything. As a result, I toured for a few years with a fun female back-up troupe called the Valley Singers! This recording was engineered by Ken Friesen at his studio in Almonte, Ontario. The demos feature Kelly Sloan, Kelly Prescott, and Anders Drerup as harmony singers.
